About who needs care: 93 and still living in her home! Great attitude. Congestive heart failure/short of breath limits her ability to be active. Like to sit in her easy chair and do puzzles, crafts, watch TV and visit with anyone who stops by to visit her. About the care needs: Deaf in one ear. Hearing aid in other. English speakers with Midwest accent are easiest for her to communicate with. No specialized skills necessary. Light housekeeping, ensuring meds are taken, constant vigilance not necessary (she also enjoys her own time) so its more of a being there type of position. She is a story teller and has many to tell. She no longer has the ability to create short term memories so storys and questions repeat (which needs to be met with renewed and continued interest). Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
