About who needs care: My dad has late onset Alzheimer's and heart failure, he is 92 years old. He lived a very active life and now is unable to do the same things physically, mostly walking and working on our family farm, and takes many naps. His dementia mostly shows up in short term memory, "what day is it today?" or just asking same questions. He is very pleasant, very joyful and loves to talk. He reads the paper every day, does watch TV and has lots of naps. I think he would benefit from getting out and about, he's very social despite his memory. His wife is 94 but less able to go. He can no longer drives, she can, but her sight is poor. They are determined to live at home and as family we've all accepted this knowing at any moment that could shift based on either of their health or an event. Thanks so much for considering my dad's care. I'm his youngest daughter, age 51, and live in Minneapolis but can come down as often as need to coordinate some new care. About the care needs: Outgoing, social, patient, empathy - my dad loves to take long drives and look at all the beauty. Services needed include: transportation, and companionship.
