About who needs care: My father was diagnosed with posterior cortical atrophy (PCA). It is a rare neurological condition, which mimics stroke like symptoms. Essentially his occipital lobe is dying. My dad ultimately has difficulty with seeing objects, off balance, and slurred speech at times. My dad is full of life and ultimately is very healthy other than his brain. He was diagnosed in 2020 with PCA and was functioning independent however over the last year and half he has declined. We have had to assist with bathing, walking and feeding. It is to the point its starting to be too much for us to handle and would need someone to come and assist with his daily and potentially nightly needs (going to the bathroom). About the care needs: My dad would prefer a male caregiver Services needed include: transportation, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
