About who needs care: We would like to bring my mom home from an assisted living facility. Her primary need is during the evening/night time hours. My father is able to look after her during the day. But she wakes in the night and is disoriented. This can trigger flight/fight response. The need is for a care giver to be in-home during the night time hours to calm her through talking and get her back to sleep. About the care needs: A calm disposition with the ability to converse with a dementia patient. She enjoys listening to music which helps build connection and calms her mind/heart. My dad (age 89) is present in the home but unable to handle the night time hours. Services needed include: companionship.
