About who needs care: My mom is overall fairly low maintenance. She uses a walker periodically. She has some memory loss, but hasn't been diagnosed with dementia (yet). She suffered a stroke last year and has just struggled to recover. She takes her own medication 3x per day. She is relatively good about eating. She really needs help getting in and out of bed, to the restroom and getting dressed (periodically). And help showering, house cleaning, laundry/bedsheets (consistently). I was hoping to pay room and board (and possibly a car) to someone who would be welcome to get a part time job, but be there for her in the mornings, evenings and overnight. About the care needs: My mom is a bit of a distant person at first, but once she warms up, she is sweet. She likes to laugh and is definitely not interested in being treated as a quote old person. That said, she pretty much likes to sit in her chair and watch TV. She would do well with someone just to chat to from time to time. Basically, she is lonely but wont admit it. Also, she desperately wants to adopt a cat. So, someone who either had a cat and would like to live with her, or is not allergic/opposed would be ideal. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
