About who needs care: The client has early onset dementia. He has several medical diagnoses. He requires lots of care but is independent on feeding , some dressing, walking with a walker, gets his own shoes and socks on. He likes listening to music, sports, tv and is a movie buff. He loves all things sifi and Star Wars. He Loves Disney and is a family man. He is motivated by food and enjoys eating out. He has a kind disposition and usually soft spoken. Doesn't talk a lot but will respond and engage when spoken to. He needs help getting on to his bus, general hygiene, bathing, He has incontinence issues and wears adult pull ups. Duties would include but not limited to, med reminders, bathing, help dressing, possible wiping after use of restroom. Meal prep, light housekeeping (dishes and laundry, sweeping, taking out trash, and wiping down the bathroom). He doesn't feel his hands or feet but has limited use of both. He does exercise and will need someone willing to sit and encourage him to do simple range of motion. The schedule would basically be to help him get dressed , make a quick breakfast, help him out of the house to load on the bus two days per week. On Wednesday he would need a bath, some meal prep for the week and some house cleaning to create a better routine for myself who currently works with him most of the days and evenings. About the care needs: A good fit would be someone willing to engage in conversation. Someone who is patient to let him do most things independently. He would love someone who enjoys movies action and sci-fi . He loves talking about his family and Disney. He has an automotive background so that could be another topic of discussion. He does require someone willing to put on gloves and help him get clean as he cant reach . He has several medical diagnoses that require someone with knowledge of medical background. ( diabetes, kidney, neuropathy and mild dementia) . Mostly he just needs a caring individual who will treat him with dignity and a positive force to lift his spirits and help him do basic tasks. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
