About the job
About who needs care: My mom has dementia and live in Royal Oak. She needs someone to check on her on days I can't go. I'm flexible on the days and times. I'm looking for someone to spend a little time with her for socialization, make sure she's clean, walk up and down the hall a little so she can keep some muscle so she doesn't become wheelchair bound yet. She doesn't have an attention span for any interest, just conversation and company for a hour or so would be more than she's getting at the facility. Between meals, she's left in her room without interaction. I go see her three times a week. About the care needs: Someone that's patient, preferrably someone who has experience with dementia. Someone who will give honest feedback about what they observed. I'd give this person permission to address anything that is not as it should be pertaining to my moms well-being. She should be clean, have clean clothes on, have clean teeth, not be sitting in a dirty diaper. Services needed include: companionship.
