About who needs care: We need someone to be with mother from 1:00-6:00 a.m. in case she wakes up, which she does often. Mom sometimes is nervous to stand up to use her walker after she's been sitting for a long period of time. If she cannot sleep, she'd like to have someone to watch TV with or just to reassure her that she is safe. The candidate could read or work on a laptop when Mother is asleep. About the care needs: We are looking for someone who is outgoing and can easily build a relationship with a 90-year-old woman. Mother is cognitively still as sharp as a tack and she has a quick sense of humor. Her body is failing her, so she spends all of her time in a chair that she can recline. She sometimes needs a helping hand, when getting out of her chair. She uses her walker to get to the bathroom, where she is almost always independent. Services needed include: companionship.
