About who needs care: she has frontal temporal dementia (FTD). Spends most of her time watching tv, but could go for an accompanied walk if she gets restless which can happen from time to time. she has limited attention span for other things, but may enjoy a simple game of cards, or some arts/craft activity. Wears a diaper and can have accidents if she doesn't go often enough to the toilet. Will need assistance/direction in cleaning up if there is a toilet accident. needs to be watched constantly as she may grab inedible items to try and eat. food should be monitored and snacks and liquids given. there will be friendly dogs in the house, they should not require any care About the care needs: should be ok with dogs. easy going personality, our family member likes music and will sing along to well know songs so that can be a distraction. if not familiar with FTD (her type of dementia) we can provide some basic tactics for dealing with difficult behaviors (like trying to eat non-food items, bathroom issues, etc). our patients is a very friendly easy going individual. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
