About who needs care: My mom recently suffered a spinal cord injury and is unable to walk. This is hopefully temporary, but we have no idea how long this may go on for. My dad (68) and myself (25) are the only two who will be living with her and taking care of her in our - quite- inaccessible home. We are seeking someone with a background in nursing and/or caregivers experience with spinal cord injuries. This is crucial. I chose every day of the week on here- however we are seeking someone who is able to come to the home on an as needed basis. Such as, certain times my dad and I both are gone for a few hours at a time. You *must* be trained in transferring those with spinal cord injuries to and from a wheelchair or other methods such as a bed (which is a hospital bed). We are seeking someone who is able to mostly watch over her if both my dad and I are gone at certain times- we can figure out schedules. Fall prevention, bathroom transfers, assisting her with meals (we will provide) etc. Likely this would consist of 1-3 days a week max, for approximately 3-5 hours. This is a very flexible schedule and we can work with the right candidate to fit availability you have. Side note- my mom is a very upbeat, positive and outgoing woman. She was absolutely fine until a random incident occurred a few weeks ago. We are just looking for a helping hand to give us a peace of mind and a little break as she needs fairly heavy assistance. About the care needs: Someone who is outgoing and social. My mom is a talker! A flexible schedule. **Background, training, etc in spinal cord injuries** Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
