About who needs care: Earne is a veteran as well as a Retired Fire Chief; 75 years young, 6'4 and about 250lbs - Earne has been bedridden for the last 2 years. Caring for Earne means, changing his shirt daily as well as his brief - turning Earne on each side of the bed, to change him (pull his shirt down in the back as well). Also, we fix scrambled eggs, an english muffin & strawberries that are already cut. BUT, these hours are for the AM, we ALSO need care every evening you work from 7-8pm, Earne also needs to be changed in the evening. You are paid for the hour, sometimes, it takes 7 minutes and sometimes it takes 57 minutes depending on what you find in his brief. Kathy, Earne's wife is also here to assist if needed. We need coverage from April 20th through the 2nd week in June for these 3 shifts, as well as covering vacation times for the already 2 caregivers here. Again, Earne is NOT a tiny human, so, you will have to turn him on his right and left sides. Earne, being bedridden you must also be able to pull him up from the bed, by pulling his body up with straps from underneath his body. Also, light cleaning, washing and folding his laundry, changing his sheets and pee pads as well. Light house cleaning with cleaning up the kitchen, light sweeping and swifting. We would love to do a meet and greet and train you when you are ready!! We really are in a fun working environment. About the care needs: Your personality will be to uplift Earne by smiling and joking with him, again, this depends on his mood. Whatever his mood is, we mirror his mood depending on his morning. Specialized skills again mean you will have to turn this extra large human, so, if you are 95lbs this probably will not be the right care position for you. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
