My mom is 85, has dementia, and enrolled in in-home hospice. My wife and I live next door; however, we work full time. I have a sister nearby as well. My mom speaks clear and expresses her needs, no aggression or behavior issues. One of our concerns is her lack of short-term memory. She does repeat herself often, but it's usually stories about her younger years, or she is offering a cup of coffee. She walks with a rolling walker and toilets herself but needs help with hygiene care and changing into her night clothes. She no longer cooks but uses her microwave. She is most content sitting in her chair and watching out the window, listening to music, or watching tv. At this time, we are seeking someone patient that can help her with her evening routine, even when she doesn't think she needs it, while ensuring she is safe and ready for bed.
