80% socialization 20% care. Home is independent living. He thrives on socialization so, the #1 criteria - sense of humor / sarcastic! He is having trouble with his words, and he hates it so compassion & understanding. #2 companionship, must go for a walk or two with him (inside or out) and/or go to lunch with him (in facility) etc. #3 incontinence (bowels) assist & shower assist (maybe not hand-on right now but, in the bathroom saying 'okay, put some soap on your hand and clean this' ) - this is challenging because he'd rather socialize than shower. May need a male for hands on showers. If he smells, encourage/assist by 'Let's get some fresh clothes on you'. Will also have to say 'let's go to the bathroom before we go for a walk' type thing because, again, he would rather socialize. Flexible on schedule, may be 2x a day
