About who needs care: Both my mother and father were in a car accident and are recovering in my home. They are in their early 80s. They have a variety of mobility needs but are of sound mind. My father has diabetes and has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's. They receive PT daily from outside therapists and have frequent friendly visitors. They are in a loving and busy home with an established routine. Needs include, medication reminders, basic food prep, bathing, toileting, and company. About the care needs: A warm and encouraging care taker would be a good fit. They came from living completely independent to losing this overnight. Specialized care would include transfer board use, diabetes support including injections, medication management, and physical therapy exercises. Because there are 2 patients in they dynamic - it can be a steady flow of tasks - thus the caretaker will need to be comfortable with a dynamic schedule. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
