SILVERSPRING RETIREMENT COMMUNITY CNA OR HOME HEALTH AIDE NEEDED. Care is needed for a 78-year-old male with dementia. Must have valid federal ID or state drivers license. Must be interactive with him as actively engaging is important as he has dementia. Household tasks related to keeping his bathroom and bedroom clean and organized. Occasional vacuuming of small condo flooring. Needs hands on assistance with transferring from bed to wheelchair etc. No cooking or driving him needed. He has a CPAP machine for sleep apnea that must be used nightly. Will train the right person with the right personality. The afternoon to evening shift. Shift typically starts with changing of his brief and then brushing his teeth and using water flossing machine. Then typically he likes to go outside and then to the gym. Some afternoon to evening shifts he will eat dinner around 6p or so. Other evenings he skips dinner by choice. Then get him prepped for bedtime. Brush teeth if he's eaten and then assist in transferring him from wheel chair to the bed. Change his brief. Change into pajamas and ensure he's tucked in and CPAP is on. He likes to go outside and sit in the sun. He usually goes to the gym which is in the building next to his condo building. Yes. Two small friendly miniature schnauzers (17lbs each). They love to play and greet you at the door with their tails wagging!
