Patience to handle the patients memory loss and confusion calmly and effectively. Empathy to provide emotional support, ensuring the individual feels valued and understood. Dependability and adaptability to manage situations that may arise throughout the day. Strong communication skills, including the ability to: Communicate effectively with the patients family. Reassure and connect with the patient. Speak Mandarin/Cantonese and English fluently. Compassion and gentleness in assisting the patient with daily tasks. Attention to detail and observational skills to notice subtle changes in the patients behavior, health, or mood, and to act proactively. Conflict resolution skills to diffuse tense moments and bring joy to daily interactions. Physical stamina to assist with mobility, personal care, and other physical tasks.
