About who needs care: Stroke patient with limited right side use. Also has aphasia. Needs assistance going to bathroom and walking. Can feed himself using left handed spork. Give morning and afternoon meds- pills & eye drops. No specific hobbies since stroke. Watches TV. Daily routine: Usually get him up between 10a-11a. Give morning meds and eye drops. Eats breakfast/ lunch. Sits in a recliner chair to watch tv. Weather permitting, go outside for short walk. Usually then goes upstairs to bed to take afternoon nap. Eats supper between 4-6p. About the care needs: Needs to be patient and have a sense of humor. He wears a gait belt. Assist lifting from chair/bed to standing, steady him when walking, and going up / down a flight of stairs. Assist in bathroom/ commode functions. No specific hobbies - watches TV westerns, sitcoms. He enjoys football and civil war history. Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
