About who needs care: My mom is getting very feeble. She has fallen several times at home and at my house. While visiting me she ended up falling and broke her arm which at the moment is causing her even more limitations. Her hands are very shakey and she spills things often due to this. She has severe rheumatoid arthritis and T-cell Lymphoma Leukemia. Her food has to be cut in small pieces due to lack of mobility in her hands and she has no teeth. She has dementia and gets confused if / when things actually happened. ( Happened last week to her it was today. ) She has to wear Depends. During the day she does well going to bathroom on her own ( except for now, with her broken arm she needs assistance to the bathroom helping her on and off the toilet, pulling up and down her pants ) In the morning when she first wakes up, her Depends are usually soaked right thru her pants. Usually her meals are just easy microwavable frozen foods. My mom can not physically put things in and out of the oven, and she is afraid of burning things on the stove. She sometimes overcooks things and makes them inedible. Loves her sweet tea and Pepsi. She needs help opening them. Loves to watch her soap operas from 1230 til 2 p.m. About the care needs: Extremely patient person. She repeats herself, mixes names, and events, and she does have a stubborn streak. Her meds are already in daily pill packs, but she does drop her pills several times while trying to take them. She loves talking about cats, birds, and all animals. Loves the warmth of sitting outside. ( She will be in several layers sitting outside while I'm in shorts and a tank top ) She loves the beach and her soap operas Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
