About who needs care: My dad has Alzheimers, and more recently, what we think is vertigo. He has trouble balancing when he tries to stand up and needs support in transitioning from the bed to a chair. He is pretty close to non verbal at this point and doesn't recognize anyone. His usual day is a lot of sleep followed by maybe coming to the chair in his room and watching TV as well as a couple meals. He has a loving family and kids who visit frequently but my mom is the primary caretaker, and with the recent balance developments, it is not sustainable for her to be the only one in the house with him. About the care needs: The caretaker should be deeply kind and patient. Their hobbies and interests can be varied b it they need to be able to physically help hold my dad up when he tries to stand for walk because he doesn't have balance.
