About who needs care: Hello, My name is Kyra, and I looking for a caregiver for my mom, She is 58 years old, and has been diagnosed with early onset frontotemporal dementia. While she has trouble speaking and maintaining her balance at times, she is incredibly bright, and in need of someone to encourage mentally stimulating activities. These can range from going out to get one's nails done, going to a scrabble/journaling group, and/or participating in light-exercise. Part of the disease involves apathy, and irritability so it is important for my mom's caregiver to have a high level of emotional intelligence. She does not like being patronized, and needs to feel as though she still has agency and control over her life. We would be searching for someone who can come by the house 2-3 times a week for 3-4 hours.
