About who needs care: Deaf-reads lips. Some balance issues. Very independent and private. Hates having companion care and feeling like someone is watching her or "in her space." Likes things done precisely her way. Makes breakfast, reads paper, naps, makes lunch, does email, naps, reads, virtual meeting w/ daughter, eats dinner in communal dining room at retirement community. Does own laundry and bed linen change (but I wish she'd have someone do that). Should have help showering but has refused so far. About the care needs: A quiet personality. Very clear English speaking. Patient. Computer skills would be helpful if her computer locks up, but not mandatory. Conversationalist w interest in medicine/science. Client is retired pediatrician. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
