We're looking for a compassionate person to help my father with daily activities such as toileting, lifting, dressing, companionship, and meals (breakfast and lunch). My father has Alzheimer's Dementia. My mother (partially disabled) and brother will be in the home as well. My mother will bathe my dad and be a support where my dad gets confused. My dad is a joyful person. He does however deal with dementia related paranoia (fear of someone hurting him, his loved ones, or him hurting someone) and sadness. He can be very sensitive and cry. He's former law enforcement so he will seek to protect people. He may believe there's danger at times and need reassurance that his warnings or instructions are kept. My brother is the primary caretaker for my mother and father. He will provide guidance on my fathers needs and best practices for his care. We are a Christian family. My mother will watch church services with my dad. It calms him. It's a go to when he's emotional. Activities like walks (with his walker) in the neighborhood are an encouraged and necessary part of keeping him healthy. The ideal person will be kind, facilitate order and structure in the home, and open to recommendations on how to best manage my father's care.
