About the job
About who needs care: Mom had a stroke in July 2023. She wears hearing aids. She has regained much of her physical and cognitive function, but does have weakness on her left side and mild cognitive impairment. She has speech therapy once a week and does well. Sometimes she likes getting up early around 7:30 to see what else is going on in the house, then fix her breakfast (cereal Or eggs) then go back to bed. Sometimes she falls back asleep, sometimes not. If she wants a shower she can do it alone, just takes awhile. Lunch is usually soup and crackers or a sandwich and grapes. About the care needs: Patience. Someone to keep her company while she loads the dishwasher, does light vacuuming, making sure she is safe. She wears an alert system button around her neck. For now, a very high functioning autistic 9 yr old boy lives there (her great grandson) along with his 41 yr old mom (her grand daughter.) Mom likes word search books and some TLC shows. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
