About the job
About who needs care: Parent was in rehab last year for nearly 2 months (vertebral fracture) due to a fall at home. She also has kyphosis and is currently using a walker. She is able to get around and prepare some meals but can no longer drive. Hence, she is homebound. Friends help with some tasks like picking up her mail (has PO box in East Orleans, MA) and removing trash She likes playing on Ipad, talking on phone, reading, and watching some TV. She was living with a son but he passed in April due to a major stroke. Other family members do not live nearby. About the care needs: Someone who is congenial. patient, and a good listener. Parent (Mom) can be very chatty--enjoys being around other people. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
