About who needs care: My MIL Marianne is on hospice at home with late stage cancer. Her health is declining and she is mostly at home. Her husband Chuck is her primary caregiver and needs a break in the week when I or others cannot support. One 4-hour shift per week would be ideal. About the care needs: Marianne and Chuck are both the warmest and welcoming people. The best fit would be a friendly, people-person who cares about the whole person while being attuned to patients on hospice. Marianne takes medications for pain and is able to administer them herself at this time. If someone can prepare tea and simple snacks or soup that would be great. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
