About the job
About who needs care: Blind and Death, needs assistance on the weekends so her sister can have some time to herself. D would like someone to teach her how to cook and do art, so maybe someone could teach her to do some of those things. She has touched upon cooking and crafts, but hasn't had someone to be able to guide her often, so she learns a lot of things on her own. Despite her disability, D is very bright About the care needs: Someone that can take criticism if possible. J, D's sister, is a huge advocate for D and she is also tired since she is also in her 60s helping out her disabled sister. Staff should just be able to hear what she has to say without taking it personally, because she isn't a bad woman, but J is very burnt out. I would say it would be good to have someone with ALS skills since D knows how to communicate that way. Someone that has patience and is willing to work with this family so they can all catch a break and have some fun. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
