Jayne is 67 years young and lives with me, her son. I have other siblings that live nearby who also pitch in help. She has been living with MS for the past two decades, and more recently it has affected her walking. She also takes medication for bipolar disorder. The largest blocker of her independence is her mobility, she currently requires a walker and is not allowed to walk without supervision. Your #1 responsibility will be being her hands and legs, getting things she needs, as well as escorting her safely to and from the bathroom. It's expected that she'd get ready for bed at 9 p.m. and be in bed at 9:30 p.m. for you to leave, the morning shift will be getting her out of bed and her day started. We have a CNA in home health aid who covers medication, exercise, major chores during the week, in need of night and weekend assistance.
