About who needs care: I am having a double mastectomy on July 15 and coming home July 16. About the care needs: My husband and I and my trans son are looking for a nice person who is comfortable taking care of a post-op patient (me, a 62-year-old Beverly resident who will undergo double mastectomy on July 15 in Boston) AND conversing with a young adult with autism and bipolar disorder who is also trans male. Looking for positive, low-key personality, not prone to conflict. Special skills would be handling / spending time with people with mental illness (my son, Tom, 23 years old, stays at home all day but cannot take care of me). Will need this person to make meals, clean up, maybe vacuum (NOT heavy cleaning!). NOTE: My son Tom is very self-sufficient but is accustomed to getting help from me to self-regulate after 2 p.m. and before or around 5 p.m. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
