About who needs care: Hello, I need someone to accompany me from Berkley to Dedham for a day surgery I will be having on my foot, an affilate of New England Baptist, of course requires that I be accompanied by someone who can remain on the premises while I undergo the procedure; and then accompany me back to Berkely when I am released. The surgery will be scheduled for 7:30 a.m. -that's if there are no delays, which is always a possibility. We will have to be there at least 40 minutes early The ride itself is about 35-40 minutes. If there are no delays, the person who accompanies me should be prepared to spend from 6 to 8 hours at the hospital. While the procedure itself is only between one and two hours, I will be in recovery for several hours longer. When the hospital gives me the green light to leave, this person will accompany me back to Berkley. I am hoping to know the date of the surgery by the end of this week. Thank you, About the care needs: Not chatty, but friendly. I am going to be tired, coming and going. Some basic first aid is helpful, but more so, a basic idea about someone who just had surgery and has their foot in a cast or boot. He or she should bring a book to read or a project they can work on on their laptop! It is going to be a long day. I hope to have a better idea of just how long, by the end of the week (I have a meeting scheduled with my surgeon this week). Services needed include: transportation.
