About the job
About who needs care: Diabetes, Wounds on her legs from the diabetes (a wound specialist comes once a week), some difficulties with bowel movements. She enjoys watching tv and telling stories and people watching. She also spends time reading on her tablet or playing games on her tablet. She mostly needs companionship and someone to help give her baths when needed. My grandpa has recently had carpal tunnel surgery on both hands, so he's not able to help her as well as he used to. An ideal day would be for her to wake up, sit up in her bed and watch tv and play on her tablet for a while, spend some time talking and then eat something. She's more recently willing to get into a car and go for rides, but it's not too often that she'll do that. About the care needs: Someone nice, willing to listen and pay attention. Someone who won't be judgmental about the state of the home as it's in a bit of a transitionary period. Overall just someone who can be friendly to her and spend time with her. It would be helpful if they had some knowledge of diabetic care, too. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
