About who needs care: Left above the knee amputation, colostomy bag, stroke with dysphasia and dysphagia. Interested in baseball, outdoor time (just sitting outside in his chair), lots of TV time. Ideally sitter would arrive at 6am, help pt out of bed at 8, supervise meals, assist him with going outside if he asks, assist with ADLs, empty colostomy bag if needed. Hospice care team will visit 2X a week so all things having to do with wounds or the colostomy bag will be taken care of for the most part. About the care needs: Anyone funny with a great attitude. Must be patient as my father in law has trouble speaking now but does have the ability to say some things. Would prefer someone who knew or would be willing to learn how to empty a colostomy bag and knows CPR and Heimlich maneuver. Specific interests and hobbies are not necessary. My father in law watches a lot of TV pretty loud. Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
