About the job
My Mom needs companionship, assistance with mobility, toileting and showering, simple meals prepared for her, and medications administered. We have a Sit-to-Stand Hoyer and rotating bed, but must be able to lift 35# and perform a chair lift at times. Looking are looking for someone to be a part of the family. Who can support us and we support them. Someone who is calm, kind, gentle, patient, dependable, and responsible, can communicate clearly, be able to handle problems with honesty and pragmatism, and speak to my mom as a peer and without condescension. My Mom is cheerful and cooperative most of the time, but please only apply if you understand and feel capable of handling the challenges that can come with caring for a dementia patient. Experience with dementia / Alzheimer's is a must, whether by employment or for a family member.
