About who needs care: My grandmother has Lewy body dementia. She has mobility issues but can use a walker to get to the restroom. She can't see well and also has diabetes. With all of that, she doesn't have hobbies. She ideally would have someone sitting with her to chat or making her meals, keeping her fed and well hydrated. Administering medication etc.! While she has dementia, she is well-aware of what's going on around her but does have some hallucinations that she understands other people can't see. She typically wakes up later in the morning, eats breakfast, naps, watches TV and goes about her day in that way. About the care needs: Someone who is willing to conversate with her. Someone nurturing with a good sense of humor. She does fall on occasion so a caretaker must be physically able to help her up/lift her if she does fall. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
