About who needs care: Retired Family Law attorney who loves to argue and debate. Spends most of her days watching TV ( law shows and medical shows). Likes to play cards, paint and do puzzles. Has a ton of medical issues - not currently mobile. She is on oxygen, type 2 diabetes, stage 3 kidney failure, obesity( 200 lbs), heart failure patient, dementia, undiagnosed depression definitely more that I am forgetting. She should be in in patient rehabilitation but left against medical advice. She really dislikes hospitals and values her independence. Hoping to get her into facility full time but probably won't be until summer. Have Pallative care with nurse, PT and OT hopefully starting next week. She can be a very difficult patient. Often verbally abusive, rarely gets physical but definitely warns you before hand. About the care needs: Caring, and compassionate, but firm. Ability to deescalate situations. Take vitals. Experience with elderly, obese and non mobile patients. Very open communication. Family wants updates minimum every other day. If any injuries, falls arise, or if she needs to go to ER family needs to be contacted as soon as safely possible. It would be preferred if caretaker has the same hobbies. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
