About who needs care: They are a reclusive type that demands a lot of independence, but they are suffering Parkinson's-like symptoms and need help with some basics. They do not independently travel so are unable to obtain groceries, etc to support living and they have issues with incontinence. They are a highly analytical person with some social interaction issues that stem from expectations about communication that require additional patience and explanations before understanding is reached. They have slowed speech responses due to the neurological symptoms. About the care needs: I patient caregiver who can portray they are taking time for the person is ideal. They have responded best to males in the past but females are acceptable if they show patience and encourage cooperation rather than give orders. We have cats and the caregiver will need to manage daily needs for them as well when I am out of town overnight or on a business trip. Household cleaning of the person's space is also needed and some meal prep consisting of retrieving "meals on wheels" deliveries and warming those if necessary. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
