About the job
About who needs care: My grandmother is diagnosed with dementia. She needs assistance getting to and from the bathroom, and basic activities of daily living. She is alert and oriented but her condition is worsening and my family is no longer able to care for her 24/7. She enjoys puzzles, watching TV and visiting friends at the local restaurant. About the care needs: She would probably benefit from someone who is upbeat and someone who resembles me (the granddaughter or my mother). I am a nurse and I would prefer her caretaker to be trained in recognizing certain signs and symptoms to report back to the family. They do not need to have much in common with her, she's 90 and not much brings her excitement anymore. Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
