About the job
About who needs care: Kind, gentle Christian man who is recently widowed. Has a sharp mind but hip arthritis requires walker/wheelchair at his clean, comfortable home as his live-in family works during the day even though he has some additional family support. Needs some assistance with transfer to avoid being fall risk. He would appreciate basic assistance with hygiene, light meal and housekeeping needs during the day. Has a weekly visiting nurse and med management in place already. He enjoys bird and wildlife watching through the picture windows, westerns, and TV programs about nature and history. About the care needs: A non-cigarette user would be best. Home will have housecat (no care required but might be a problem if caregiver is allergic). He is a little hard of hearing but doesn't need someone to keep up a constant conversation. Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
