About who needs care: My mom passed away last August, and dad has been trying to figure out this new way of life and is still struggling. He's very lonesome. he's seeing a psychiatrist and getting help for this, but he is also showing signs of dementia... he still drives and can take care of himself on a personal level, but he needs someone to make him a good home cooked meal and dessert. He needs someone to clean or tidy up the house, play some cards or watch a movie together. He has been going for walks outside, but I know dad has some balance issues so if someone could go for a walk with him, he would love that too. About the care needs: someone who is honest and trustworthy. Hopefully this person will be able to make dad laugh and engage in conversation with him so that these "visits" made to his place will feel friendly and comfortable to help him adjust. someone who can even help teach dad how to make friends and discover some hobbies he may like that he doesn't even know about yet. but definitely looking for someone who can cook and able to clean up the house. He can do his own laundry but may need help changing the sheets - things like that. it's a nice smaller ranch home that mom and dad just moved into before mom passed so even some decorating would be good. he's not allowed us to do it anything to it - even paint! but he's coming around to the idea more and more Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
