About who needs care: I have many health conditions but my COPD is what keeps me going back to the hospital. I also have MS, Fibromyalgia, Spinal Stenosis, Herniated discs in my neck and more. I am looking for someone who can maybe sit with me a couple hours, especially when my husband has to leave to take our grandson to work in the late evening (around 8:30pm) and pick him up in the early morning (around 2 to 2:30am) or if he has an appointment of his own or to run errands because my oxygen drops and so does my heartrate when I sleep and my oxygen drops and heartrate goes up with I get up and move around. I dont sleep well, only get a few hours of sleep each night. My husband does his best to help take care of me but he is in his late 60's and has health issues himself. I do wear oxygen but don't like to wear it all night because I get the cord wrapped around me and afraid I will cause a spark or something that may catch fire. I also need help with meals because I cannot stand for long periods of time due to chronic pain in my back and legs. About the care needs: I just want someone who is very caring and understanding and loves people. I would like them to be skilled and pay attention to me especially if they are here when I sleep to watch my oxygen and heartrate. I wake up basically when I start to get into deep sleep and my heartrate/oxygen drops. My heartrate, so far, hasn't dropped below 45 and my oxygen has dropped to 50% once that I had noticed but my oxygen does drop to around 70 sometimes, so that is why I need to be watched. Most of the time my body will jolt awake when it all drops too low. I have a pulse oximeter for my finger that I wear most of the night so if I wake up, I can look at it to see what my oxygen and heartate are at the time and my husband can check it if he wakes up during the night. I cannot expect him or my kids to sit up and watch me and them not get any sleep. I know this is alot but I want to make sure the caregiver understands what I go through of a night and why I want to be watched.
