About who needs care: My mother-in-law recently diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. Neurological condition that has no cure. She is currently receiving PT, OT and Speech therapy services on an outpatient basis. They won't cure her but prolonging her currently quality of life. She gets around our house currently with a walker and independent in the bathroom and getting dressed but is a slow process. She does need help with meal prep. She likes to read and generally takes a nap every afternoon between lunch and dinner. Prior to her diagnosis in early June, she was working full-time as a legal secretary and enjoyed going to events for her grandchildren, sewing and gardening when she was not working. About the care needs: someone who is soft-spoken would be good. She is starting to become sensitive to loud sounds and voices. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
