About the job
I need a hands-on care provider with Alzheimer's / Dementia experience for my husband in his 80s. He weights 220 pounds and is a 2 person assist with the use of a sit-to-stand and gate belt. Some light tidying up is involved. but focus is on him not housework. Duties include grooming, dressing, getting out of bed, using commode, feeding, encouragement to consume liquids, and helping with range of motion exercises. He is touch sensitive and at times experiences anxiety and sensory overload. He is at a more advanced level than simple companion care. He has a great sense of humor. He can quickly determine if the person helping him has a caring heart or not.
