About who needs care: My dad has dementia. He had a stroke almost 2 years ago. My mom is his primary caregiver but she's up in age and this is becoming to be much for her. My dad is unable to to care for himself which includes bathing, the bathroom and getting out of his hospital bed to his wheelchair. I don't expect anyone to change his adult diapers, my mom does that. But she can get relief from someone bathing him, and helping him in his wheelchair. I can always help my mom in the evenings to get him back in the chair. About the care needs: I would like someone who is very patient, kind and full of compassion. This is an absolute must because we do not want my dad mistreated in any way. Fear of mistreatment is the reason he is not in a nursing home. Someone with a friendly personality as he or she will also interact with my mom as well. Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
