My mom has Alzheimer's and she is still able to do some things for herself. Patience, creativity, good cuing skills. We never do things FOR her that she can do herself. We never force her to do anything. Just want her to be happy, comfortable, and safe. Has had a few bad falls. Care requires good and effective communication strategies. Needs verbal cues for ADL's. Most importantly, build a relationship and provide meaning and purpose to her day. Build a rapport so eventually she is comfortable with hands on care. As time goes on she will need more help. . Looking for a long term commitment. Someone who is conversational, not task focused, creative, and attentive! We will treat you like family. Mostly afternoons and evenings. Please do not reach out or accept this position if you don't plan to make the commitment for long term.
