About who needs care: My sister is a bilateral leg amputee, and has limited mobility in her hands, incontinent, wheelchair-bound; needs glucose monitoring, and help with medication distribution in AM/PM, meal prep, laundry, and light housekeeping. Friend/neighbors would help with all but incontinence support while I go home to Colorado for one week.
About the care needs: My sister does NOT like small talk and would like someone who does not need to continually be "engaged". The ideal candidate should be able to transfer her from wheelchair to bed and bed to wheelchair. Her assistant should be familiar with people who have diabetes and their need for glucose monitoring and insulin injections.
Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
