Seeking Full-time Senior Care Provider In Des Moines

About who needs care: My husband Bobby is recovering from a brain bleed stroke that happened last May. He has had to relearn how to swallow, stand, walk, talk, etc .. He is in rehab currently, and will get to come home when his bedroom/bathroom addition on the 1st floor is finished in June or July. I don't know yet how much help I might need when he comes home, but it would be nice to have someone who can help cook & feed healthy meals, do a little cleaning, help with his shower, & help with his various needs as he is in a wheelchair... but he is slowly always getting better! .. Id like to be able to have someone on call as needed- maybe come every day or every other day.. I'm unsure just how much help I might need at this point, but it will be great to have someone to come at least some days a week, & sometimes at night if I go out with friends. I make/ sell silver jewelry, & play keyboard in a band - we practice at our house. Bobby used to play the bass & he made/ taught art. We have a small very sweet dog named Mabel & she loves walks in the neighborhood We are getting a wheelchair van. He'll be going to out-patient 3 days a week. He'll do some daily wheelchair exercises, eye exercises .. drawing on a whiteboard, listening to music, soaking in the sun on the back deck.. The pay is thru work comp, so I am not sure what they'll pay- but I'm sure it's at least as much as the going rate. Bobby's mind is there - he is smart & witty, but he is slower to speak & we're working on speaking louder. He's got a kind spirit & is a really nice guy to spend time with! About the care needs: Outgoing personality, good sense of humor, willing & able to be helpful in a variety of ways .. know/ learn basic care assistant skills - help with going to the bathroom/ showering, transferring bed to wheelchair, helping with feeding/ drinking with level 2 liquids .. It would be nice to find someone with similar interests in rock n roll music & art, as well as an interest in healthy organic food. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
