About who needs care: Brain damage from viral brain infection; short term memory issues, starting to have equilibrium issues, and mild anxiety. (From what she has told me) Pelvic floor issues/prolapsed colon issues. Currently grieving the loss of her husband, but also has low self esteem because of him constantly controlling her and putting down any of her ideas due to her brain damage. (From what I've Likes to play games on her phone Loves bird watching Loves dogs Has own cleaning routine. She stays up late, so she doesn't get up until around 9:00 a.m. She makes her own breakfast (microwave or cold) takes vitamins/meds. Writes down everything she does, checks what needs to be done for that day (already written in by her the day prior or when the appointment is made), she watches the birds and other critters outside (feeds the birds, deer, chipmunks, etc), deadheads flowers (when she has some), picks vegetables in her garden (when she has one), and has her own daily/weekly house cleaning routine. She gets a visit by the neighbor's dog (whom she give treats to), makes her own lunch, usually leftovers from a hot meal someone else made or a cold one she can make herself. Her time is what she makes of it in the afternoons (appointments, errands, extra cleaning, relaxing, etc.). Evenings she spends in front of the television after dinner until bed. About the care needs: They need to have a follower type of personality but also knows when to lead without being a bully or demeaning. Thick skin (she tends to have no filter). Flexible schedule. May have to do some heavy lifting (garbage day, paper burning, helping her up if she happens to fall for any reason). If they like bird watching or have a companion dog (not a small/toy breed) that comes with on a basic, check in day would be great. She would enjoy the dog. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
