About who needs care: My mother has dementia and is non verbal. She spends most of her time watching tv. My father is her primary care giver. We are looking for someone to come in a few times a week to help out to give dad a break. Mostly need someone who can help with meals and comfortable helping mom in the bathroom. Maybe giving her a shower once a week. Also a few household chores or assisting dad to take her to a doctors appointment. My mother loves soap operas, movies and a few other shows. So its mostly low key except needing to help her in the bathroom. About the care needs: Need a female care giver so mom is comfortable when they help her in the bathroom or with a shower. Someone who is friendly but is not too talkative since mom watches her tv shows and cannot carry on a conversation. Although she does enjoy hearing about peoples family and stories. And if they enjoy watching her same tv shows is ideal. Mom loves it when others are watching with her and reacting as well. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
