Promote independence for a woman in her 40's with intellectual disability. She is charming, engaged in the community, assertive, talented onstage, happy on basketball and tennis courts. She loves animals and her family. Her companion/coach should like dogs and be kind, positive and outgoing. Plan on lots of time out and about: accompany client on outings, adventures and downtime; take her to walking trails, appointments, church, library, social activities, etc. Assist with money management, meal preparation, shopping, personal grooming, housemate relationships, decision-making. Supervise/prompt medications, household chores, organization of personal belongings, physical exercise. We are eager to chat by phone first and then, if this looks promising, in person. Warning: cumbersome Medicaid hiring process & paperwork!
