About who needs care: My Dad has dementia and sleeps a lot. He is very hard of hearing and I would need to have his hearing aids available for caregiver to use. He also shakes a lot and needs to use his rolling walker as he is a high fall risk resident but still able to move about on his own. I am going to be having major back surgery and I want to inquire about hiring someone to check in on him, make sure he is okay, talk with him, see if he needs anything, conduct FT call with me and clip his nails when needed. Nursing degree is not necessary, just a caring and warm friendly person would be great. Christian beliefs would be a great plus as my Dad was a Methodist Minister. I also want to make sure that his room is tidy and his clothes are being washed and that he is being bathed by personnel at the facility. If possible get him involved with activities that he may be interested in. I can adjust the times needed to accommodate a good match for him. About the care needs: As stated previously, a person with Christian beliefs would be a great fit because that is really the only thing that my Dad shows interest in. Getting him involved would be wonderful if at all possible. Services needed include: companionship.
