About the job
We are seeking a caring, patient, empathetic live in caregiver for my son who is in his 40s and diagnosed with Downs Syndrome. He is ambulatory, verbal, self-feeding, incontinent at night with moderate visual impairment. He is gregarious and engaging. He loves CD's, DVD's, and movies. My son requires assistance with medication, routine household cleaning, bathing and toileting, meal preparation, errand running, and oral medication management. In addition, he will benefit from caring companionship and thoughtful social interaction. My son will need transportation to and from his day program and appointments. His caregiver needs to be a non-smoker, CPR / first-aid trained, and have reliable transportation. Caregiver will have free times during the day when he is in his day program and two weekends a month when he goes to respite care.
